Westinghouse Electric and TECO Electric and Machinery Co., Ltd. jointly established Westinghouse Motor Company (WMC) in 1988. In 1995, TECO acquired all Westinghouse Electric Corp. shares and made the decision to manufacturer more of their standard products in Round Rock, Texas.
The name was officially changed to TECO-Westinghouse Motor Company (TWMC) in 1997 and in 1999 TWMC opened a controls division in Texas to assemble variable frequency drives and distribute soft-start control products under this name
