The basics: control tray cable is cable approved for use in raceways and cable trays. Tray cable can be used in wet or dry applications, out in the open or shielded. Drive or VFD cable is designed for harsh environments and can handle high voltage spikes, generally used when the motor is 30 feet or more away from the drive.
