ProMat 2025 Highlights

Posted by Theresa Hoffman on Mar 28th 2025

It’s shaping up to be a quieter year for Chicago’s big trade shows, but whenever one rolls around, we’re there in full force, connecting with our vendors and customers. I regret not tracking our steps at ProMat because it was an absolutely massive and impressive event—my guess is we easily clocked a few miles!

Tim Springer and I walked every aisle across all three large rooms packed with manufacturing and supply chain innovations. We even lingered a bit longer than necessary at some booths, impressed by the technology on display.

Here’s the scoop on some exciting vendor updates!

Euchner

The Euchner booth had an impressive variety of safety products, with the MGB series stealing the spotlight. We caught up with Euchner’s Territory Sales Manager, Ricardo Balonkita, who shared the exciting news that their new Schaumburg, IL location is officially up and running! The facility has a warehouse stocked with an extensive product lineup, and we’re looking forward to checking it out. We even talked about scheduling a tour to get a firsthand look at how their new operations are coming together.

Werma

We received a warm welcome from Regional Sales Manager Mike Moore at Werma, where stack lights lit up the booth! Did you know Werma recently launched a new compact signal beacon? The MC35 and MC55 LED installation beacons—available in Touch and Touch Smart versions—shine with up to seven colors. Offered in 35mm and 55mm diameters, they’re perfect for fitting into tight spaces.

IDEC

Last year, we introduced you to the IDEC EZWheel®. When we stopped by the IDEC booth, we found Field Sales Engineer Alexis Aleman "driving" the latest version of this innovative product. Designed for AGV and AMR applications, the SWD EZWheel® features a modular safety wheel drive that’s both flexible and scalable, making it ideal for warehouse environments.

Pepperl+Fuchs

When I say Pepperl+Fuchs (P+F) products were everywhere at the show, I’m not exaggerating! The circulating "P" and "F" on the R2000 LiDAR were impossible to miss. By the time we reached the P+F booth, Account Manager Josh Moore was ready to greet us with some exciting product updates. We watched the PGV 2D positioning system use multicolored Data Matrix codes to record reliable position data. Snapping a photo was tricky—my phone kept buzzing as it tried to scan all the QR codes mapped for the PGV.

Leuze

Leuze is proud to announce the upcoming release of the Series RSL 200, the smallest safety scanner on the market. Leuze National Sales Manager Jeff Ireland gave us a sneak peek at this product, designed to optimize small spaces. Made for AGV and AMR applications, the RSL 200 has a 275° scanning angle, safeguarding two sides of a machine at once. Keep an eye out this summer for the RSL 200 scanner to hit the market!

Lenze

Do you have a conveyor application? Lenze is introducing the new o450 Motor Driven Roller (MDR), designed specifically for conveyor systems in warehouses, distribution centers, and airports. This gearless motor maximizes efficiency, cutting friction losses and other variables by up to 85%. With peak torques of up to 4 Nm, the o450 handles sideways movements and rapid direction changes.

From getting a wave and a high-five from a robot to connecting with vendors, we had an amazing time at the show. While we loved catching up with our vendors, we also made time to visit with our customers, paying close attention to every booth to find the wide range of applications on display.
