Detect The Undetectable With Takex SSC-T800
Posted by Theresa Hoffman on May 9th 2025
We’ve seen various high-tech security systems on TV, featuring a zigzag of lasers. Characters twist and bend into impossible positions, as if playing a game of Twister, to avoid tripping the beams and getting caught.
Picture a scene like this—it’s somewhat similar to how the Takex SSC-T800 operates. However, rather than serving as a high-tech security system, the SSC-T800 emits light beams in a specific order, with corresponding receivers checking for interruptions, creating a grid-like detection area.

What is Sequential Array Scanning?
SSC-T800 series sequentially scans a two dimensional array of transmitters and their corresponding receivers, forming a high-density detection net. This ensures reliable detection of thin objects like pipes, tapes, or name cards that may pass through standard light curtains.

Where to use them?
The SSC-T800 creates a beam in a radial-cross way method creating a density detection net. This means, the beams are closely spaced and overlap in a way that ensures small and thin objects are reliably detected.
Applications:
- Irregular Object Detection: Detecting objects in sorting facilities, SSC-T800 can identify irregularly shaped debris or products on a conveyor belt.
- Safety: The SSC-T800 is designed to detect and control a system to ensure a safe operation.

- Wide Area Detection with Variable Positioning: SSC-T800 can detect plate-shaped work passing through an arbitrary area, in applications such as monitoring sheet metal, glass substrates or fabrication facilities where materials position might vary.
- Process Control: In bin-picking systems, SSC-T800 ensures that parts are correctly retrieved without errors.
- Material Monitoring: The scanner can check the remaining amount of coiled material to prevent operation without material or to signal material joining. This is particularly useful in industries like steel or textile manufacturing to avoid downtime.
Convenience and Customization
Don’t let the SSC-T800’s slim 14.5 mm profile fool you—its robust metal case is designed to handle demanding applications. With IP67 water-resistant housing, this scanner thrives in tough environments. Offering five selectable beam intervals

The Takex SSC-T800 sequential array scanner, with its high-density detection net, redefines precision in industrial automation. Paired with the PS300 power supply and supported by advanced control features, the SSC-T800’s customizable package simplifies installation and thrives in tough environments.
