Schmersal is one of the largest manufacturers of safety switching devices in the world. Their products includes safety switches, position switches, guarding devices, fail-safe monitors and timers as well as safety controllers, safety light curtains and foot switches.

Schmersal was founded in 1945 by brothers Kurt Andreas and Ernst Schmersal.
