Who Is MCEDC? And Why They Matter to McHenry County

The McHenry County Economic Development Corporation (MCEDC) is a non-profit, public/private business advocacy organization dedicated to strengthening the local economy. They serve as a bridge between industry, government, education, and community stakeholders — helping companies grow, attracting new investment, and developing a talent pool across the county.

Their mission is clear: promote the economic health of McHenry County by facilitating business attraction, retention, and expansion, all while building high-quality jobs and contributing to a strong quality of life for residents.

Why It All Matters

These successes illustrate how MCEDC is not just talking about growth — they’re actively enabling it. Their efforts help:

  • Attract new companies, which brings investment and jobs.
  • Support local employers, by helping them expand or modernize.
  • Develop local talent, so businesses have access to skilled workers.
  • Invest in infrastructure, making the county more competitive for future development.
  • Grow community assets, like senior care and vibrant business partnerships.

MCEDC is playing a central role in making McHenry County resilient, forward-looking, and economically strong. By combining strategic planning, collaboration, and on-the-ground action, they’re building a foundation for a more prosperous future — for businesses and residents alike.

Recently, our Wolf Pack stepped out for a special evening at the 15th Annual McHenry County Economic Development Corporation Dinner—an event that has become the gathering place for the county’s business and community leaders.

With 400+ attendees in the room, the energy was high, the conversations were inspiring, and the sense of community was stronger than ever. This year’s theme, “Powering Business, Energizing McHenry County,” was the perfect reminder of what happens when innovation, collaboration, and leadership all move in the same direction.

We were proud to be part of an evening that celebrated incredible achievements in economic development, workforce advancement, and community impact—all while looking ahead to the next chapter of growth for our region.

A huge thank-you to MCEDC for the invitation and for hosting such an energizing and meaningful event. We left feeling inspired, connected, and grateful to be part of a community that pushes McHenry County forward.
