Temperature and Process Controllers

(a.k.a. PID controller, on/off controller)

The basics: temperature controllers are used to maintain temperature at a specified value. They generally accept a temperature sensor input which it compares to the setpoint (specified value), at this point it will send an output to a control element. Process controllers are used to maintain the output of process variables; temperature, flow, pressure or level.
